The opening scent of salim Oud is sweet, fresh and rich. The musk offers a sweet and very rich first impression, and whilst its going through its stages of settling a fresh silky note is born, a likened to a cool frosty type of note, maybe a variation of rose and lavendar , thats what it reminds me off.
In the heart the aroma gets more intense , and darker, composing of cedarwood like notes, adds to the warmth and brings forth a woody aroma, subtle hints of resinous notes, similiar to that warm baking forest type of aroma.
By the time we get to the base, that silky note remains, its clear and apparent, it continues to produce a fresh and impacting aroma , its more like a synthetic white musk type of aroma, coupled with the woodsy aroma from the cedarwood. There is also vanilla at the base which adds to the sweet accords.
I don't get Oud, but if there is any, its small amounts, carefully blended into the overall fragrance body, it acts like the foundation, holds everything together, just like a house, you never see its foundations, as they are deeply rooted, but without it, house would collapse, I feel if there is any Oud, it would have similar role.
In conclusion a very easy and enjoyable fragrance to wear, its offers simplicity and diversity without it throwing you off, its a type of scent that can be worn in any situation, user friendly, and a fragrance that is inviting as opposed to being offensive or off-putting.
