Kilian Intoxicated

Kilian conjure up the steam from an eggshell cup of rich, viscous Turkish coffee laced with green cardamom used in double strength - in oil and absolute - to glow as the opulent heart of the scent. Around this swells the warm spicy fragrance of hallucinogenic nutmeg and powdered cinnamon. At the base is the crystal sweetness of burned caramelized sugar; the scent is a coffee so rich and strong it would hold a silver spoon upright.

In the opening, an overdose of fruity notes: blood orange, blackcurrent buds, white peach and lychee - combined with hot spices - black pepper from Madagascar and pimento berries. The heart is a woody accord: cedar, sandalwood, patchouli - dressed by the femininity of the Rose of May and the more sensual femininity of the jasmine sambac from India. In the dry down, cistus and ambrarome were overdosed in a classic oriental accord - tonka bean, benzoin, vanilla - to bring out the animalic sensuality.
